Hello, my name is Pollyann and I am from Temecula, California.
I officially started the Got Kidneys Ministry on April 16,
2003 in response to a message that was given to me by Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This message inspired me to
begin a campaign to find a living kidney donor for my dearest
friend of 35 years. Susan Marquez of La Habra, California
was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called IGA Nephropathy
in October of 1997. Despite the excellent care Sue received
from her doctors, the disease progressed. Sue experienced
renal failure in June of 2002. She received emergency dialysis
through a shunt that was surgically implanted in her neck.
Since that time, she has been receiving dialysis 3 times
a week.
Sue is in GREAT NEED of a kidney NOW! And as you may know,
the waiting list for a cadaver donor is a minimum of 3 years.
There is not time to wait for that possibility.
Over the past year, there have been two potential donors
who have been tested. One living relative and a close friend.
Unfortunately, neither one of them worked out.
I am calling on you to help contribute
to this campaign and ministry in any way that you can. Organ
donation is not for everyone, however there are many ways
you can assist us in making this a successful campaign and
ministry. We are currently accepting cash gifts, printing
services, advertising spots, cling window decals, long distance
calling cards, office supplies such as printer ink, envelopes,
postage stamps, etc. And last but not least a LIVING KIDNEY
DONOR!
All cash gifts will be recorded on our site. Each listing
will include your name and the city in which you reside
or work. If you wish, you may also make
a donation in honor or your loved one. Their name will
be posted as well. We will be updating this portion of the
site every 2-3 weeks so that you can see how your cash gifts
are being utilized.
We are also interested in opportunities for speaking engagements
to community organizations about our ministry. Please contact
me if you are aware of an opportunity for us to share
our ministry with others.
We will be selling t-shirts, coffee mugs and mousepads
to raise funds that will assist us in promoting our ministry
throughout the country. We are not set up to provide you
with a tax deduction but the Lord promises to reward you
for your good deeds and compassion for your fellow man.
